Boarding
Your pet's home away from home.
Located in Columbia, Horton Animal Hospital-Northeast offers pet boarding for cats and dogs so you can enjoy peace of mind while you're away. If you can’t take your pet with you while traveling, it’s crucial for your peace of mind—not to mention your pet’s health and happiness—that you find a clean, safe and secure place for your pet to stay and play.
At Horton Northeast, we make sure your furry friend spends plenty of time exercising outside at least twice a day. We also offer a bonus package that includes extra outdoor playtime for our most active guests. Since we’re a veterinary hospital, we can provide appropriate, quality care if your pet develops any health problems better than traditional boarding kennels while you’re away.
Please note: It’s best to book your pet’s boarding as soon as possible. We can usually accommodate animals with a week’s advance notice, but earlier is always better to ensure we have room for your pet. For holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, we recommend you call at least two months in advance, especially for big dogs.
Our Boarding Requirements
Our boarding requirement are as follows:
- Dogs must be current on their distemper, rabies, Bordetella, and fecal exam
- Cats must be current on their distemper (FVRCP) and rabies vaccines
Pick-Up and Drop-Off
Our normal pick-up and drop-off hours for boarding are during regular business hours (Monday through Saturday), but we also offer early-release on Sunday evenings from 5 to 5:30 p.m. for a small extra charge. If you’re interested in a Sunday early-release, it must be scheduled, prepared in advance and paid for when your pet is dropped off.
Boarding Policy
Late cancellation and no-show appointments have required us to collect a credit card number for reservations during high-demand dates like the holidays and spring break. If you need to cancel your boarding, we request 48 hours’ notice. Failure to provide notice at least 48 hours in advance may result in your credit card being charged for the entire reservation.
