Michael Meyers, DVM

Although Dr. Meyers’ mother claims she hadn’t seen the “Austin Powers” or the “Halloween” movies before naming him, he still has fun giving her a hard time about it. Aside from his famous name, Dr. Meyers also has gained notoriety in the veterinary community for his life-long involvement with animal care. He has worked at two small animal hospitals in Columbia since 2007 and focuses primarily on surgery, geriatric care, oncology, and orthopedics.

Originally from Edwardsville, Illinois, Dr. Meyers also worked at two animal clinics and a horse stable throughout high school and college at the University of Missouri. In veterinary school at the University of Illinois, he worked at a wildlife clinic and a dairy farm.

Dr. Meyers’ own pets include dogs named Apple, Harry, Maggie and Sandy, and a cat named Captain. He enjoys movies, wineries and spicy foods. In fact, ask Dr. Meyers about his hot pepper spice blend.
