As pet owners ourselves, we understand how important it is to know your pets are in good hands when you can’t be there yourself. Whether it’s just a weekend out of town or a longer vacation, it’s imperative for your peace of mind, and your pet’s happiness and health, that you find a safe, secure place for your pet to stay. At Horton Northeast, we make sure your friend gets outside at least twice a day, and we also have a bonus option to include extra outdoor playtime in our packages. Since we are a veterinary hospital too, you know that if your pet were to run into any health problems while you were away, we would make sure he received the care he needed.
Horton can house a variety of species of animals for essentially any amount of time you need, based on space availability. Pricing depends on the animal’s size, the time spent staying with us and any extra features you’d like to add, such as additional outdoor playtime.
In order to be boarded at our facility, for the safety of your pet and the other animals, all pets must be up-to-date on their vaccinations. For cats and dogs, this means a current rabies and distemper vaccine, as well as Bordetella for dogs. While we normally only allow boarding pick-up and drop-off during our Monday through Saturday hours, we also offer early release on Sunday evenings from 5 to 5:30 p.m. for a small extra charge. Take note that you must be scheduled and prepped in advance for the Sunday early release.
Make sure to call as soon as you can to book your pet’s spot. Based on space, we can usually accommodate animals as long as you call about a week in advance, but earlier is always better to ensure we have room for your furry friend. For holidays, we recommend you call at least two months in advance, especially for big dogs.
While we understand the hassles of trying to find a temporary residence for your pet during your vacation, in the past we have experienced late cancellations and no-shows. Because of this, we have had to institute the following boarding policy during holidays and other high demand dates, such as spring break. A credit card number is required for reservations during these times. 48 hours cancellation notice is requested and failure to provide 48 hours notice will result in your credit card being charged for the entire reservation.Call us at 573-474-9508 to see what we can do for your pet to ensure he gets just as much of a vacation as you do when you head out of town.
